I know I am WAY behind on my blog this month. There is so much going on that I have neglected my reading duties. Anyhoo... I read 20 books in November which is way less than usual. With the holidays coming, breaking my ankle, and preparing for an out of state move, I am not getting nearly as much reading done as I would like!
However, my big news from the month of November is that I FINALLY FINISHED ZODIAC ACADEMY!! My entire month was pretty much consumed by these authors because once I finished ZA, I then delved into three other series that are all based in the same universe. ZA was a huge undertaking but was well worth the ride. I am saying this even though I took a several long month break after book 7 ripped my heart out and threw it in a blender. It took me some time to get over that and back into book 8 because it picks up exactly where 7 leaves off and kept making me cry... You all know how I feel about books making me cry. If you have the time and attention span, you should read all of these series. The world building and story are just phenomenal and I don't think I have ever seen where anyone ever regretted reading them. They are a time suck, yes, but they will change your life.
That being said, the other series that are part of this universe are also a must read. Technically, I think I should have read The Ruthless Boys of The Zodiac before ZA because it delves into characters you will see later on in their lives when they meet the Vega sisters. It doesn't give nearly as much information about Gabriel's past as I had hoped but it gives some. I could have used more story on how he found out who he was.
I also read the Stars and Shadows series by Holly Renee and while the story is good, I was quite annoyed by the end and was ready to never hear the words "chill bumps" or "nub" ever again. She has some seriously awful repetitive tendencies with her word choice and it about made me crazy.
I started a reread of the Flesh and Fire series by Jennifer L Armentrout which I had started last year but didn't finish because the books hadn't all been released yet. I don't remember hating it last year but this reread made me realize that I absolutely cannot stand Seraphina. She's absolutely awful and I only continued to finish the series because I love Cas and Poppy's story and needed to know how they subdued Kolis. I have now moved on to the Blood and Ash series and am much happier for it.
And there you have it! This is literally all I got done in November. December is looking a bit more exciting. See you next month!
